 Bill Stroop 
        was called to serve as the Rector of St. George's in Roseburg in August of 2004. Prior to that, he served as a Curate at St. Paul's in Fayetteville Arkansas, the Chaplain at St. Martin's University Center, and the 
        Canon Missioner for Campus Ministry for the Diocese of Arkansas. 
        Bill was born in Klamath Falls, OR, and attended Oregon State University 
        where he met his wife, Brandy. Brandy and Bill moved to San Francisco, 
        CA where Bill was enrolled as a graduate student at the University of 
        California. He received his Ph.D. in 1981 in experimental pathology. Bill 
        taught at the University of Utah School of Medicine and at Baylor College 
        throughout the 80's and early 90's. In 1994 he and his family, including 
        their daughter Miriam, moved to Little Rock where Bill was a Professor 
        of Microbiology & Immunology, Pathology, and Ophthalmology, and a 
        Career Scientist with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Bill resigned 
        his academic positions in 1999 to attend the Episcopal Theological Seminary 
        of the Southwest after he was made a postulant for Holy Orders. He was 
        ordained to the transitional deaconate in Little Rock in December 2001,
