          Texan Rod Spencer graduated from Texas A&M University in 1977 with
          a B.A. in philosophy and soon discovered there were few vacant positions
          for philosophers. His
        post-gradutate work includes a Master of Divinity degree from Louisville
          Presbyterian Theological Seminary and a master's dregree in marriage
          and family counseling from the University
        of South Florida. His counseling ministry began in St. Petersburg, Florida,
        and continued in Memphis, Tennessee, where Rod established several congregational-based
        pastoral counseling centers. In addition Rod continued pastoral ministry
        as an interim and supply pastor, as well as serving on the adjunct faculties
        at Christian Brothers University and Memphis Theological Seminary. A
        Licensed Professional Counselor in the states of Tennessee and Texas
        and staff member of the Samaritan
        Counseling Centers of the Mid-South,
        Rod’s areas of expertise in counseling are marriage and family
        therapy. He also is employed as Senior Crisis Counselor for Youth Villages
    in Memphis.
